Introduction Organized activities have existed throughout recorded time. Papyrus records indicate that from 2052 BC to 1786 BC, the Middle Kingdom of Egypt’s leaders introduced the subdivision of labor. In an early attempt to organize and communicate, around 59 BC, Julius Caesar used handwritten posters and sheets around Rome to keep people up-to-date. City states, villages, religions, and armies all required some type of organization.
