ABSTRACT

Neural therapy is the injection of procaine (trade name: Novocain) into affected areas of the body. Albert Einhorn first synthesized procaine in 1905 while searching for a local anesthetic without the psychic effects of cocaine. The ingredients of procaine are para amino benzoic acid (PABA) and diethylaminoethanol (DEAE). It is almost completely metabolized without affecting the liver, a unique quality among local anesthetics.
