ABSTRACT

As societies face the challenges brought about by globalization and the new technologies, the critical importance of innovation and knowledge creation has become clear to all. Most leaders would say that their main challenge is one of generating and sustaining innovation. This is particularly true in education where the economic and social costs if the system fails to innovate, will be substantial. As Fullan et al. (2007) note, education needs a system that will support the day to day transformation of instruction for all students – a system that is both practical and powerful.
