ABSTRACT
Section 2.4 discussed the authority of federal and state governments to regulate the programs of private schools. This chapter examines the allocation of authority over the programs of public schools. It considers the role of federal and state governments and local schools boards in the regulation of curriculum, including the limits that the Constitution and federal statutes place on the state’s power to control the educational program of its own public schools.
