Safety and confidentiality issues in schools

Every school has responsibility for the safety and well-being of their pupils. This is a priority for vulnerable children, including those experiencing domestic violence. Domestic violence is a child protection issue and all school staff should be aware of current child protection procedures and who is the lead person for this in their school. The school’s child protection policy should include reference to domestic violence.
