ABSTRACT

Monitoring, evaluating and assessing progress in multi-agency working Monitoring multi-agency working Monitoring is the ongoing process of tracking the progress being made towards meeting all ten elements for each of the nine aspects of multi-agency working, which make up the self-evaluation process. The senior member of staff responsible for overseeing the entire multi-agency self-evaluation process within the education setting is accountable to the head teacher and the governing body or management board. He or she is expected to provide them with at least one update per term on the progress being made towards meeting all nine multi-agency working aspects. The nine people in the working party, each responsible for gathering evidence for meeting the ten elements of their aspect of multiagency working, should meet formally with the senior member of staff leading the process, each half term, to report back on progress made. The evidence reported back by the members of the working party or task group is then summarised and written up by the senior member of staff leading the multi-agency self-evaluation process, as part of the interim review reports, which are placed in the portfolio of evidence. These summary reports can be bullet-point progress lists, cross-referenced to the relevant actions and activities on the action plan. Box 4.1 provides a model template for recording

progress for the periodic monitoring of each of the nine aspects of multi-agency working.
