ABSTRACT
Bur Dubai – its ‘traditional’ neighbourhoods from where the city originated and grew (fi gure 1.2). Here the true Dubai emerges which is not a representation or a fake reality. My aim in this book is to uncover and reveal these spaces, which I believe constitute the essence of the city and where its unique urban experiment is expressed spatially.
