ABSTRACT

Let us analyse three important, though seemingly disparate, events spread across the globe: the USA, India and the United Kingdom:

On 11 September 2001, four airliners were hijacked by suicide bombers and targeted at major US buildings. Two demolished the twin towers at the World Trade Center in New York, the third destroyed part of the Pentagon in Washington and the fourth crashed in Pennsylvania. These attacks were identifi ed with Al-Qaida international terrorist network and Osama bin Laden famously stated that he was conducting an ‘Islamic jihad’ [holy war].
