ABSTRACT

Runner: Our next presenter is Jennifer Mervyn. She describes her dissertation, entitled, “Metamorphosis: An In-depth Look at the Lives of Former Street Kids,” as a “video ethnography.” Jennifer is a crisis worker who works in hospital emergency rooms and schools doing assessments and counseling for youths under age nineteen in acute mental health crisis. She received her PhD in the Department of Counseling Psychology at the University of British Columbia. She has Metis ancestry and sits on the Greater Vancouver Urban Aboriginal Strategy.
