ABSTRACT

I am the principal of a government primary school attended by 450 children and situated in the western suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. The school began in 1878 in a three-roomed building with the headmaster living in the adjacent cottage. In the 130 years since that small beginning, the school claims a proud history of outstanding academic, cultural and sporting achievement and is well known for its provision of quality education for deaf and hearing-impaired children.
