Children’s participation in Bangladesh: Issues of agency and structures of violence

At the end of the meeting a game started, hiding each other’s shoes. Most of the shoes were soon found, but Salim’s were still missing. At last Alam and another of the younger boys admitted they had seen Kashem hide Salim’s shoes in the drain. Salim was furious, and so was Kashem. Losing his temper completely, Kashem attacked the younger boys and yelled that Amra was finished, he would tell everyone what rubbish it was, he would see that it was destroyed.
