ABSTRACT

How can children best be helped to have their views heard when decisions are made that are of personal importance to them? This chapter draws on research into the representation of children’s views within family group conferences (FGCs), a particular type of family-led decision-making forum. We reflect on the findings of our in-depth case study research, and identify links to issues for participatory practice where children are involved in public-sphere decision making.
