And critics with an ear for the prophets could say, ‘Do not trust in these deceptive words: “This is the Scripture of the Lord, the Scripture of the Lord, the Scripture of the Lord.”’ The implied shock should be worthy of Jeremiah’s temple sermon (cf. Jer. 7:4).
