ABSTRACT

If you work in a primary school, you are unlikely to have a policy explicitly setting out the procedures for tests and examinations; however, in a large secondary school you will need to familiarise yourself with this policy, or at least with the procedures followed. Policies and procedures are likely to have the same expressed or assumed aims – ensuring fairness of access to tests, making sure no pupil is at an advantage over another, that the rules of any tests are followed, e.g. by allowing only the set time for the test and not giving more or less time than is stipulated, and that cheating is not allowed.
