ABSTRACT

An analytical expression for room air temperature has been derived in terms of system and climatic parameters, by using the energy balance for different components of proposed design namely walls, roof, isothermal mass and collector panels, etc. A typical two room set building alongwith air heating collectors on the south wall has been considered in the present study. Numerical computation have been carried out for a typical cold day of Srinagar, India. From numerical results it is inferred that: (i) There is a significant effect on room air temperature due to integration of air collector panel to the system, (ii) The south wall air collector with multiple pass air has insignificant effect on room air temperature.
