ABSTRACT

Nicola settled into her seat as the train pulled away from the station. The two weeks since she had moved to Middleworth had flown by. Her parents had come with her a fortnight ago to help set up her new flat, and both her car and theirs had been crammed full. Her mum had rung twice since then. Truth to tell, although now independent, she had received substantial help from them during the move. Her first week in the new job had been hectic and at times intimidating, but she felt pleased with how she had coped. It would be good to see her mum and dad again, but she wouldn’t see much of them this weekend, as the main reason for returning was Katie’s engagement party. The whole gang would get together again – that would write off Saturday evening and most of Sunday!
