ABSTRACT

When we see a change in the environment, the business openings are often obvious to a number of people. But some of the most lucrative opportunities come not from the first entrepreneurial opportunities but from those that stem from them. An example of someone who rode this second wave of opportunities was John D. Rockefeller, who instead of investing in oil wells invested his capital further down the production chain in oil refineries. This strategy started his journey to becoming the world’s richest man.
