ABSTRACT

As you have seen throughout Part II, everyone has multiple and hybrid identities. That is, race, ethnicity, gender, social class, ability, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, and other differences combine to influence who we are and how we identify. For young people, negotiating their identities while growing up and learning to live in a complex time and society is especially challenging.
