ABSTRACT

The central question raised in this work is this: what were the important contributions made to the security of the United States, Canada and various nations of Western Europe by Sigint? The writing of this study was motivated by the desire of the authors to fill the void that currently exists in the public literature regarding the role and importance of Sigint in the years after the end of World War II. By the same token, the purpose of this study was also to broaden in a profound way the public’s knowledge about the role of Sigint in countries outside of the United States. In order to realise this goal, we have chosen to follow a multinational and more comparative approach.
