ABSTRACT
Theories of peer learning tend to give greater weight to either social or cognitive processes. Table 34.1 provides a summary of key theoretical orientations to peer learning and the implications of those orientations for practical classroom decisions. The latter part of the chapter describes a number of specific cooperative techniques that are influenced by many of these theoretical perspectives.
