ABSTRACT

Rhythmic gymnastics (RG) is a sport that combines elements of ballet, gymnastics, dance, and apparatus manipulations. Rhythmic gymnasts compete in two different categories: individual and group competitions (five gymnasts compose the group). Gymnasts perform routines with one of the following five types of apparatus at once: rope, hoop, ball, clubs, and ribbon. The ranking is made by a panel of judges, who give marks for each of the following aspects: technique, artistry and execution.
