ABSTRACT

Tropical residual soils are derived from in situ weathering and decomposition of rock and have characteristics that are quite different from those of transported soils. Some methods commonly adopted in Malaysia for slope stabilization work are discussed, highlighting good practices and relevant design guidelines.
