ABSTRACT
It is true to say that no other form of theatre gives such prominence to the role of the artist as the puppet theatre, and that even the most amateur of puppeteers must have some artistic skills. This is even more important in professional puppet theatres in which each character and his stage environment is created by the set designer, the artist.
