We have been in a position to observe suggestive hypermnesia for long-term memory since the early years of our psychotherapeutic work. Some of the results of our experiments with the suggestive hypermnesia we encountered most often in experiments with hypnosis, were published in 1955:

In the experiments we observed the recalling of things which are generally not retained in the mind of a normal person, things of which he is not conscious, but which do exist and exercise an effect.
