ABSTRACT
This chapter begins by exploring what is meant by the concept of childhood and how definitions have changed over time. This is an important first step in defining child sexual abuse, as the transition from childhood to adulthood is inextricably linked with human sexuality and the perceived ability to develop informed consent to sexual relations.
