ABSTRACT
Anne Frances “Nancy” Robbins was born in New York City, the only child of Kenneth Robbins and Edith Luckett Robbins. Her date of birth is often officially given as July 6, 1923, but her birth certificate and high school and college records indicate the actual year of birth to be 1921. Although her given name is Anne (for her paternal great-great-great-grandmother), her mother called her Nancy.
