ABSTRACT
WHILE SANETOMO was being produced in St. Louis in April 1976, 1 had occasion to talk at length with Mr. Yamazaki about his own career and about various aspects of the contemporary theater in Japan. His answers were always stimulating and highly informative. The text is included here as a source of additional information for readers interested in his work. A slightly different version appeared in the summer 1977 issue of The Denver Quarterly, vol. 12, no. 12.
