ABSTRACT
Radiation therapy Prospective randomized trials1-3 have confirmed the benefit of adjuvant radiation therapy in extremity sarcoma, primarily as an adjunct to surgical resection. We randomized 164 patients to receive or not receive adjuvant radiation therapy by the brachytherapy
technique.1 Patients were stratified for size, grade, depth, site and primary versus recurrent and received postoperative adjuvant brachytherapy (42-45 Gy) on the sixth day.
