ABSTRACT
This section deals mainly with the practical use of commercial vaporizers which have a sufficiently high resistance to gas flow that they require pressurized gas supplies. Patients cannot be allowed to inspire through them, even if it is possible to connect them into a breathing system. Modern devices have the direction of flow marked on them, and have fittings of such a diameter and type that they cannot, without considerable determination, be included into a patient breathing system.
