ABSTRACT
The chapter deals in turn with two exclusionary rules. The first, the opinion rule, governs the admissibility of inferences drawn by a person from observed or assumed facts. The second governs the admissibility of decisions, ie the outcome of fact-finding in another legal proceeding. Further constraints on testimony by experts, one of the categories of witnesses who are permitted to give opinion evidence, will be detailed in the next chapter.
