ABSTRACT

At the commencement of the book, standards were set out by reference to which I suggested that the court system failed us badly. Among a mass of material, I have not found any expression of satisfaction with the way the system functions or in the way similar systems function in other countries. The book has proceeded to examine each of the standards and to analyse the deficiencies of the system in relation to each. This analysis shows that the causes of the deficiencies are many and not confined to shortcomings of the courts themselves or the lawyers.
