ABSTRACT
This chapter contains remarks and comments by a lawyer who was educated and has practised in a West European continental system (The Netherlands). As a consequence, the examples and perspectives in this chapter are mainly related to the region North-West Continental Europe, rather than to other Continental legal systems in Latin America or in the (Central and Eastern) European countries in transition.
