ABSTRACT

Article 4 delineates the ambit of the substantive legal issues covered by it, and propounds a non-exhaustive list of matters not covered by it. According to Article 4, the Convention covers only the formation of the contract of sale (as to which see Part II of the Convention), and the rights and obligations of the seller and buyer arising from such a contract (as to which see Part III). Article 4 continues-in particular, except as otherwise expressly provided by this Convention, it is not concerned with (a) the validity of the contract or any of its provisions or of any usage; (b) the effect which the contract may have on the property in the goods sold.
