ABSTRACT
As has already been mentioned, one of the objects of the proposed introduction of the Hamburg Rules was to introduce a cargo regime which is ‘up to date, equitable and efficient’. The baseline for assessing this must be as compared to the existing predominant carriage regimes-the Hague Rules and the Amended Hague Rules.
