ABSTRACT

This is because, since there is no legal aid available for obtaining straightforward divorce decrees, a decision on how to finance the actual suit (as opposed to any ancillary relief, child or domestic violence proceedings) is an essential pre-requisite of any work done, and the decision as to how the solicitor’s work will be paid for will affect how the divorce suit is handled, ie by the solicitor on behalf of the client, or by the client acting as a litigant in person, advised by the solicitor under the Green Form Scheme.
