ABSTRACT
The maximum penalty for an offence under s 4 of the 1824 Act is three months’ imprisonment, or a fine not exceeding level 3, or both. On a second offence, the D may be committed to the Crown Court for sentence, where the maximum term of imprisonment is 12 months.
