ABSTRACT
Immediate and effective resuscitation is paramount to the outcome of major and minor trauma. Trauma victims require rapid assessment, structured resuscitation, reassessment, appropriate observation and definitive management. The concept of advanced trauma life support (ATLS) is an effective, structured, safe, reliable, and increasingly well recognized method for the resuscitation of trauma victims.
