An historical perspective is no bad thing when evaluating property financing techniques and investment fashions. To complement our examination of today’s finance and investment markets, here is a quick review of the post-war property booms — and busts. This chapter takes us up to 1990. It is followed by a separate chapter on the crash of 1990-93, which rates individual treatment.
