ABSTRACT

Microbiology Listeria species are short nonspore-forming, aerobic and facultatively anaerobic Gram-positive bacilli, which grow well on all ordinary media under a wide range of temperatures (0–40°C). Almost all cases of human listeriosis are caused by Listeria monocytogenes.
