ABSTRACT
Pneumonia is an acute septic episode with respiratory symptoms and radiological shadowing that was neither pre-existing nor of other known cause. Community-acquired infection is defined as an infection that occurs in a patient who has not been hospitalised in the preceding 2 weeks or an infection that occurred within 48h of admission to hospital.
