ABSTRACT

Although it is not the intention of this book to give a detailed analysis of the new enfranchisement provisions in the 2002 Act (as mentioned in the Introduction), it is relevant to look at the subject briefly in the context of leaseholders acquiring the management of their buildings – not least because it is one of the alternatives to electing to exercise the Right to Manage. Enfranchisement is also one of the events leading to the cessation of RTM.
