ABSTRACT
Having considered the nature of law and legal reasoning in some detail, we turn in the remaining chapters of this book to explore some normative issues about the shape the law should take – the standards, in other words, which good law should meet. And in this chapter we deal, in particular, with the concept of moral rights, both as limits on the exercise of governmental power and as the source of positive obligations on government to assist its citizens.
