ABSTRACT
We have already described the concept of the corporate veil and explained that one of the reasons why an entrepreneur might choose to set up business through a limited company is that the company, not the entrepreneur, is responsible for the debts. This is the case unless they have given a personal guarantee (see Chapter 4) in respect of the company’s debts, or become liable through the court being able to pierce the corporate veil to reveal their dodgy dealings.
