ABSTRACT
The previous chapters have briefly described a number of potential problems that can lead to cracking or building movement. These problems are not just settlement, subsidence and heave; they also include chemical attack, roof spread, lack of restraint, wall tie failure, thermal movement, moisture expansion and vibration.
