ABSTRACT
There are a number of different EU Regulations which govern this area. The Regulations currently in force are:
(i) Regulation (EC) 258/97 ([1997] OJ L43/1) – the Novel Foods Regulation; (ii) Regulation (EC) 1139/98 ([1998] OJ L159/4) – the Compulsory Labelling
Regulation; and (iii) Regulation (EC) 50/2000 ([2000] OJ L6/15) – the GM Additives Regulation.
