Notices under the 1954 Act should, by s 66(4) of the 1954 Act, be served pursuant to the provisions of s 23 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1927 (‘the 1927 Act’; see Appendix 2). The provisions of s 23 of the 1927 Act do not have to be used, but if they are not used, then difficulties may arise in proving service.
