ABSTRACT
The court can decide on a rent which increases by fixed amounts over time. Thus, in Fawke v Viscount Chelsea [1980] QB 441, the premises needed repairing which was the landlord’s responsibility and the rent was fixed so that once the repairs had been carried out the rent would increase.
