ABSTRACT

Where a tenancy is protected by the 1954 Act, the tenant may be able to bring it to an end by:

(a) making a request for a new tenancy under s 26 (see 5.1); (b) giving notice under s 27 (see 5.2); (c) ceasing to occupy the premises for business purposes (see

5.3); (d) notice to quit in the case of periodic tenancy (see 5.5); (e) serving notice pursuant to a contractual break notice (see

5.6); or (f) surrender (see 4.2).
