ABSTRACT

A landlord is entitled under s 29(2) of the 1954 Act to apply to the court for an order for the termination of the current tenancy without the grant of a new tenancy if:

(a) he has served a s 25 notice stating that he is opposed to the grant of a new tenancy; or

(b) the tenant has made a s 26 request and the landlord has served a counternotice within two months of the s 26 request stating that he will oppose an application to the court for the grant of a new tenancy and specifying on which of the grounds in s 30 of the 1954 Act he will oppose the application.
