ABSTRACT

If a dispute arises over the meaning of an Act of Parliament or a piece of delegated legislation, the courts must resolve the dispute by interpreting the meaning of the law. Therefore, Parliament makes the law and the judges then decide what it means. There are various aids to help judges in this task.
